This is a Great Activity for large groups of 4 or more. If your a Adrenalin junkie then its perfect for you, but if your scared of heights then maybe just stay away as its not for everyone. All safety equipment is provided and instructions are given at the beginning. There will be one of our outdoor experts with the group during the journey and will assist you with any help you may need. Ideal wear Trainers or Climbing shoes, shorts or sport wear. This is a 2-3 hours event. Activity 1 The Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine is a fantastic experience for those who like to push their boundaries. You’ll be climbing ladders, wire bridges and cargo nets way above the Honister Pass, bring a camera and a head for heights! You will be responsible for ensuring that you remain firmly attached to the safety cable throughout the trip, your guide will, however, be keeping a watchful experienced eye on you and the team. This trip is designed for those who know exactly what they are getting into – once we start there is no going back! Everybody in the group needs to be moving well and be confident in ‘mountainous’ situations. We will provide you with all the required specialist equipment. Weight and height limits do apply so just get in contact for details. The Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine takes on average three hours, perfect for a morning or afternoon blast out in the mountains. What you'll need Warm Clothing High up on Fleetwith Pike it can get very cold please bring warm clothing. Waterproofs The weather in the lake district is very unpredictable best to be well equipped. Drink Activity 2 An ever popular Lakeland Activity, Ghyll Scrambling gives you the chance to have a great time getting completely soaked in an invigoratingly chilly Rocky Mountain stream, or 'Ghyll'. There are two fantastic 'Ghylls' close to Glaramara - Honister Ghyll which we go up and Stonycroft Ghyll which we go down, taking on each watery challenge along the way - tunnels, waterfalls, slides, jumps, dives and wading. Transport, technical equipment and clothing is provided. What you'll need Warm Clothing Please come with a warm set of clothes and a pair of old trainers you don't mind getting wet also a change of clothes and a towel for after the activity. Our team member will drive you to all to the locations for a pleasant Experience, they may not provide detailed information about the place but they will facilitate the visit and create a welcoming atmosphere.
